 Library News Minimize

Wanted!  I’m looking for a volunteer or two to help with shelving library books one or two hours a week. As you probably know, Gatewood has many wonderful books and they need to get back on the shelves so students can locate them. If you enjoy libraries and books this is a fun position, and you will find many great books your student(s) might enjoy!  Please let me know if you would like to help out at a time when I’m working at Gatewood (Tuesdays and Thursdays all day and alternating Wednesdays.)  Thanks in advance!

Excellent Resource for Parents and Students!

The Seattle Public Schools Library Services is an outstanding resource for families.  I invite each of you to take a look!

You might wish to begin with World Book for Kids, and explore the many areas. There is something for everyone at this site.  TumbleBook Library is also very popular, and it has Ebooks for Ekids. You can also explore the reading levels of the books.

KidsReads.com is a fun place to learn more about authors and see what else is available, among other things.

Finally, check out the database for the Gatewood Library.

Also, remember it is easy check the Seattle Public Library and the King County Library as well.

These resources can be fun to explore with students on our rainy days and broaden the uses and benefits of a computer at home (and school.)

If you have any questions or comments, feel free to email abcox@seattleschools.org or call me at 252 9406.
