Diversity Council

Information

Purpose

The purpose of the Diversity Council is to build upon Gatewood’s tradition of critical thinking, multiple intelligences and life-long learning to work towards social justice by nurturing a school community where everyone feels welcome and included and knows they will be respected and treated fairly.

Vision

We envision a just and equitable world where all people thrive. At Gatewood Elementary, we see a school where all students reach their full potential as learners and global citizens. We see a vibrant, supportive school community where our children learn to:

Celebrate and value diversity

Have compassion, empathy and understanding for others

Build respectful, meaningful relationships with people from all backgrounds

Make a difference in the world

Everyone is welcome!

Meetings will be:

June 1
